Well...Hello There!

Okay, this is how I'm starting my blog:

I work a lot. I'm a first-year teacher and a last-semester graduate student. This year has been absolutely crazy and ridiculously wonderful. I have decided to start a blog to share my experiences and thoughts about (as the title suggests) Life, Love & Teaching.

Life:
What do I know about life? Not much. However, I've learned (in my short twenty-something years) that life is about discovering what you are passionate about and taking ACTION to do something with that passion. I admire the romantic dreamers but you can only dream so much before it dissipates into "I wish I would have..."Take action! DO something! Life is infinitely better when you find what you love and DO something with it. This brings me to my next topic: Love.

Love:
What do I know about love? A little more than what I know about life, I think. For starters, as the previous section implies-- I love what I do. I love teaching special education. My love grows everyday as I gain more experience, teach new things, learn new things, and write a million "to do" lists on sticky notes. I love my students for everything that they've taught me and for loving me back. This is one kind of love in my life.

When I (eventually) leave work everyday, I come home to another kind of wonderful love-- Tim and Stogie, my little family.

I've got a lot of love in my life!

Teaching:
As I said, I'm a first year special education teacher. I teach 11 amazing students who have changed my life. My journey thus far has been, in one word, insane. The details of that will have to come later. The purpose of this blog is three-fold. One, I wanted a place where I can reflect and hopefully gain insights or advice from teachers, parents, non-parents, non-teachers, anyone who has an opinion on the content of my posts. Two, I wanted a place to post some neat teaching activities, classroom ideas, and crafts that I've tried with my students that others may find helpful. Three, I need to write. Even if it's a silly blog post. I miss it terribly.

Well, that's it for now!
